~portentous music is heard~

This is actually the beginning to an entire series (and it was exceedingly difficult to pick which part of the series I wanted to display...it was more of a half dozen or another kind of decision).

I'm (or someone) is angry with the doll (or what the doll aka Barbie represents), and this anger causes destruction.

The other images of the series involve the doll broken apart, being put back together, and then it is realized that the doll might just have true human aspects after all.

This first series I wanted to have a very old black and white movie feel to build a great deal of tension - I wanted the images to have an almost silver plated feel as well.

I also wanted to see how little information I could actually use - trying a minimalist approach.

These really remind me of crime scene photos. In terms of narrative, the changes seem a bit flat. Maybe instead of using frontal lighting change it up so that you get a negative silouhette on some to create the point of change/conflict. Conflict doesn't neccesarily have to be the action but the aesthetics of the image itself.

i think right now...the idea of what the doll represesnts is not coming across...minimalst is a great idea but it might have more meaning if you used images of female beauty or sexuality.

maybe yor fingernails are done when you destroy barbie...it just adds a bit more dimension to the entire narrative.

compositionally, they are interesting...

i saw a great poster where they used a woman in a BURKA on the from of Cosmo but kept everything else on the cover the same...the contrast was incredible. perhaps you use that contrast.

Amy, calm down and stop attacking the barbie. I like the last photo how she is all mangled. her limbs add to the composition.

but it looks like the photo is divided down the middle and is two seperate images.

I like how the barbie has this airbrushed "perfect" look, while the hand has a raw, rough feel to it... it really conveys a conflict between the two worlds just through texture.. but I think the message could be a little more clear.. like why you are angry with the barbie.. you can reveal a little more of the story behind all this action.
